As I look back on what has been a very satisfying but hectic 10 months establishing our new Bureau, I am reminded of a quote by Harold McAlinded: "Do not Follow the path well trod, but go instead where there is no path, and leave a trail."
Staring a fresh and blazing a new trail has certainly had its challenges but we now have all the ground work in place. As we celebrate our first successful bids and learn from those we have lost, we are forging new ties with our industry and government stakeholders and building a better understanding of the requirements of our local hosts and international meeting planners. If you haven't yet met the Bureau team, please do drop by and pay us a visit – our database is growing daily – but there is still much for us to learn. |
