SCB links up with Perth Convention Bureau
SCB has taken a significant step in expanding its marketing base to tap into the huge international convention market by forging a strategic marketing alliance with the Perth Convention Bureau (PCB).
Ecopia and SCB in win-win collaboration
This working partnership was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two bureaus on 24th May at the office of Sarawak's Urban Development and Tourism Minister Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh, who officiated at the signing ceremony, at Petra Jaya in Kuching.
Under this business development co-operation, both bureaus would provide sales support to each other and work together in searching for leads by sharing information.
Staff from both bureaus will also provide logistical support for projects undertaken by their counterparts, which involve marketing or sourcing of speakers and convention material in their respective country.
Besides this marketing and organizational synergy, the MoU also covers staff exchange between SCB and PCB to develop their skills through exposure to different working environment and cultures.
Sarawak wins Toastmasters convention, bids for 50 more by 2016.
The Toastmasters District Convention for 2009 will be held in Kuching following the recent successful bid for the international communication development organization's annual event.
SCB Chief Executive Officer, Ms Jill Henry, said the success of that bid is a positive start towards the bureau's plan to assist 50 organisations to bid for conventions in the next few years.
