Sarawak had the opportunity to play host to 120 Kimberly Clarke team from Malaysia and Singapore in January this year. A leading global health and hygiene company with its headquarters in Dallas Texas the team was accorded a special Kuching cat welcome style on arrival. The group participated in did their teambuilding at Camp Permai Rainforest Resort and held sales conference at the Holiday Inn Damai Beach. That evening they were entertained in Sarawak style of welcoming visitors with tradition music and dance by the performers from the Sarawak Cultural Village. The team were taught traditional dancing, playing traditional games and tasted the local food like Laksa, seafood, BBQ, and a must try local fern medin, rice wine and many more. During their stay they also had the opportunity to shop for souvenirs at Main Bazaar street and had a sumptuous seafood lunch at Taman Kereta before departing.
 
China CYTS M.I.C.E. Outing
China CYTS M.I.C.E. OutingA group of 80 pax led by Mr. Albert Y.Y. Lee the Business Development Director comprised of CYTS staff, agents and corporate buyers visited Sarawak in February this year and did a site inspection to Borneo Highland Resort, Bako National Park and had their theme party at the Sarawak Cultural Village. The group hopes to create awareness and sell Sarawak in China. SCB works closely with STB in making the event a success.
 
MAS South Asia Achievers AwardMAS South Asia Achievers Award
STB was successful in their bid to make Sarawak the proud host of Malaysia Airlines High Achiever awards which were held in Kuching in March. MAS 120 top agents were mainly from different parts of India and Bangladesh. SCB hosted their welcoming dinner at Jambu Restaurant and gala dinner, sponsored by STB was held at the Hilton Hotel. During their stay the top achievers were taken on a tour of Kuching and visited Sarawak Cultural Village and Holiday Inn Damai properties.
 
ORBIS FLYING EYE HOSPITAL
The Orbis Flying eye hospital transporting the gift of sight around the world was in Kuching in February and welcomed by the Honorable Chief Minister of Sarawak. A DC-10 aircraft converted into an ophthalmic hospital with innovative teaching facilities are flown by volunteer pilots. The international team has conducted treatment and training programs in more than 70 countries since 1982. The worldˇ¦s leading surgeons donate their time to perform surgery and teaching aboard the Flying Eye Hospital, while ophthalmic nurses and technicians provide training for their local counterparts. When in Kuching, many locals came to see the facilities in the aircraft and local doctors and nurses took part in the exercise.
