Delegate Boosting Marketing Subsidy

If you provide details of your forthcoming convention - by completing and returning the event listing form - you may be eligible for our Delegate Boosting Marketing Subsidy of up to RM 5,000 per convention.

Ongoing Event Promotion

Details of forthcoming conventions are published in our official Calendar of Events, which is promoted on our web site and provided to local and international media to generate additional publicity. The calendar is also provided to relevant government agencies, industry organisations and other interest groups.

Choosing Dates to Attract Delegates

When choosing the dates for your convention it is essential to check what other events are taking place around that time to avoid conflicts with similar events.

It can often be advantageous to schedule your event close to a festival or local public event, in order to encourage delegates to attend and to extend their stay. However it is important to check seat and room availability if the adjacent festival or event is popular with overseas or out-of-town visitors.

Sharing Data and Information Resources

Access to accurate data on confirmed meetings is important for our ongoing research and statistical purposes. And it is equally important for the successful planning and promotion of your event. We will gladly share our data resources and contact network with you, and in return we would like to ask you to share your event data with us.

The reason for this is simple. The State Government of Sarawak is investing millions of ringgit in improved convention infrastructure and it is important that we are able to measure and report on the economic impact of our convention industry. Data on visiting delegates is also required to assist in future planning and to help potential investors and developers gain a greater understanding of the state of the market.
